OpusClip Alternative Inside Premiere — No Credits
An OpusClip alternative that works inside Premiere Pro: find viral moments and build 9:16 Shorts with no credits and no uploads. Prices as of October 2026.
OpusClip is one of the best-known tools for cutting Shorts, Reels and TikToks out of long podcasts and YouTube videos. But what if you already edit in Premiere? This page compares OpusClip with Suflo, which does the same job inside Premiere, including what each one is missing.
Disclosure: this page was written by the team that builds Suflo, so we are not neutral. That is why competitor prices come from the plans their makers published as of October 2026, sources are listed at the end, and Suflo's gaps get their own section. Prices change; check the official pages before you decide.
Two approaches: web service or Premiere panel?
OpusClip is a web service: you upload a video or paste a link, clips are prepared in the browser, then you download them or, on the Pro plan, export XML to Premiere. Suflo is a panel inside Premiere: your video is already on the timeline, moments become Premiere sequences and you fix everything with Premiere's own tools.
Both do the same job for different people. If you don't use an editor, a web service is simpler. If you already edit in Premiere, the export, upload and re-import loop costs time, and fixing a typo in burned-in captions means rendering the clip again.

Shorts inside Premiere with Suflo: 5 steps
- Transcribe: press Generate captions on the long video. Speech is transcribed on your computer with Whisper; this step is free.
- Find viral moments: open Viral moments (Shorts) in the caption editor, pick a length, a count, a genre and what you are looking for; Suflo lists the best moments with an explained 0–100 score and a one-line reason. No clip starts or ends mid-sentence, and you can nudge each one by a sentence.
- Build a Shorts Package: press Add to pack on the moments you want, then Create pack. Each one becomes a 9:16 sequence (Auto Reframe) in the Suflo Shorts bin, with captions in your chosen Caption Effects look, the hook title you picked, a progress bar, a call to action and your Brand Kit logo. Your original sequence is untouched.
- Grab titles and hashtags: YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Reels titles, descriptions and hashtags for every Short are written to your project folder as .txt and .csv. Prefer to work by hand? Create plain Shorts sequences and add hooks and captions yourself; captions stay clear of platform buttons.
- Export each vertical sequence at 1080×1920 and upload.
What Suflo doesn't have (yet)
- No scene layouts. Ready-made vertical layouts such as split screen are in OpusClip; Suflo makes a single-frame vertical copy with Auto Reframe.
- No automatic B-roll insertion. Suflo suggests B-roll moments and stock search keywords as markers; it doesn't place footage.
- No intro/outro templates. Brand Kit puts your font, colors and corner logo on every caption style and hook title, but Suflo doesn't add intros or outros.
- No prompt-based search such as "find the funniest moment".
- No posting scheduler. You export and upload yourself.
- Premiere required. If you don't use Premiere, a web service makes more sense.
Which one fits you?
Choose OpusClip if you don't use an editor and want a fully automatic browser workflow, scene layouts or scheduling. Choose Suflo if you edit in Premiere, don't want credits or watermarks, and prefer clips that stay editable in Premiere instead of burned-in renders.
Suflo 3.2: speed ramps without shifting your edit
Pro · 3 free tries. Apply 11 curves to a clip or an In/Out range. Clip position and duration stay unchanged; captions and music do not shift. Remove ramp restores one clip at 100% speed in one click.
Premiere does not expose Time Remapping to extensions, so ramps use short, constant-speed pieces that remain editable in Premiere. Read the speed ramp guide.
The free caption core is updated too: live transcription, time left and Cancel; measured local word timings, a 2 lines × 42 layout, Fast / Most accurate decoding, sound-tag filtering and a silent-audio warning. Offline English translation is Pro, with 3 free tries.
This addition covers Suflo 3.2 only; competitor features and prices were not re-evaluated. Source: Suflo 3.2.0 release notes.

Does Suflo do everything OpusClip does?
No. Finding and scoring moments, 9:16 sequences with captions, hook titles, a progress bar, a call to action and your logo, and per-platform titles and hashtags are in Suflo. Scene layouts, automatic B-roll insertion, intro/outro templates and a posting scheduler are not in Suflo as of October 2026.
Does Suflo have credits or watermarks?
No credits, and Pro output has no watermark. Suflo Pro is a one-time purchase with no minute limits; styled captions and hook titles made with a free try carry a small suflo.app mark until you re-render them after activating Pro. The AI step is only subject to the free usage limits of your own Groq key.
Can I bring OpusClip clips into Premiere?
According to OpusClip's help pages you can export clips as XML and open them in Premiere; this is a Pro-plan feature. With Suflo there is nothing to import, because moments are created as Premiere sequences.
Is my video uploaded to find viral moments?
No. Captions are transcribed on your computer; for moment selection only the caption text is sent to a cloud AI with your Groq key. Audio and video stay on your machine.
How does Speed Ramp work in Suflo 3.2?
Pro Speed Ramp applies 11 curves to a clip or an In/Out range, with 3 free tries. It preserves clip position and duration, so captions and music do not shift. Short, constant-speed pieces stay editable in Premiere; Remove ramp restores one clip at 100% speed in one click.
Which Suflo 3.2 caption improvements are free?
Live transcription, time left and Cancel; measured local word timings, a 2 lines × 42 layout, Fast / Most accurate decoding, sound-tag filtering and a silent-audio warning are free. Offline English translation is Pro, with 3 free tries.
